Love Festival Bag

With so much good news about vaccination and less Covid infections we can look forward again!

More and more is possible this Summer and even parties and events are ahead of us.

Therefor I thought a small festival/party bag would be a nice project!

I received beautiful yarn in very bright and lovely colors: Lana Grossa Mcwool 130 send to me by Lana Grossa NL. click here to see the yarn: https://www.filati.nl/lana-grossa-garens/wol-lana-grossa-cotton-mix-130-mcwool-id_7231.html

Since June is also Pride month and there is a lot going on about that theme at the moment, I choose Rainbow colors for my bag.

Colors I used for the bag are: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red and white.

This is how I made the bag.

I made 2 granny squares with a heart in the middle. You can find the heart granny pattern here: https://blog.jellybeanjunction.co.uk/blog/2017/11/04/heart-granny-squares

I made my granny squares bigger by adding more rows.

Put the grannies on top of each other (wrong sides in front of you ) and crochet the pieces together with single crochets.

Make a strap by cutting 27 strands of yarn of 2m. make a knot at the end. Divide the strands in 3 parts (of 9 strands)and make a plait/braid . Make a knot at the end and cut the ends to make tassels. Sew the strap to the bag sides. Option: line your bag with fabric and use a magnetic button , so the bag can be closed.

That’s it! very easy but so much fun!

Stay tuned because another crochet project with this gorgeous yarn is coming very soon!

Happy crocheting!
